The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce's mission is "To  advance the general welfare and prosperity of Wayne County so that its citizens and all areas of its business community shall prosper."

The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is a member owned and member-driven not-for-profit organization of business and professional people.  For over 100 years the Chamber members have been dedicated to enhancing the economic environment of Wayne County.  The Chamber gathers the diverse community interests together to work on common issues that affect the region's economic health.  By fostering the development of business growth and prosperity, the entire region enjoys an improved quality of life.

Our Chamber represents over 26,000 business individuals from 800 member firms.  Businesses employing 25 or less comprise 90 percent of Chamber membership.  A Chamber's strength lies in the number and diversity of its membership.  Both large and small businesses from all professions are represented and influence the Chamber's programs.

Chamber members elect Board of Directors representing member businesses.  The Board governs Chamber operations, activities and directs the efforts of volunteer councils and committees that are supported by a full-time professional staff.

The Chamber's driving force is its volunteers.  Each year more than 300 volunteers share valuable time and expertise to develop and lead important Chamber programs.  These individuals are concerned about improving the community they do business in, the community they have made the greatest investment in.  Annually 5,000 businesses owners and professionals attend Chamber programs and networking events, making the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce an essential business tool.

Chamber membership is valuable to a business because it provides access to business interaction and promotion, business advocacy, workforce development, tourism, cost-savings and benefits, plus leadership and community enrichment.  The members are the Chamber.  The more members the Chamber has the better the representation of the overall community.  The Chamber can accomplish collectively what no one business could do alone.
