MLK Weekend of Service
Join the United Way of Wayne County’s MLK Weekend of Service and get hands-on in our Beloved CommUNITY.
Join the American Red Cross in installing FREE Smoke Alarms around Goldsboro Saturday, January 18th. This is a great opportunity for businesses and groups to get involved. Volunteers will meet at the Goldsboro Fire Department at 8:30 am for breakfast and training and will then head out to install alarms. Lunch will be provided.
Monday, January 20th, Children and teens 5+ are welcome to join the Goldsboro Family YMCA’s Day of Service held in partnership with the United Way, Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County, City of Goldsboro and Walmart #4564. Students will be engaged in service projects benefitting Kitty Askins patients. Lunch will be provided for all and teens will be able to attend the City’s MLK Luncheon. The event will last from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students can register at www.goldsboroYMCA.org by selecting “Programs” and then “Afterschool”. A few adults are also needed to help supervise participants.
