The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce invites you to partner with fellow business and civic leaders by serving on one of our dynamic committees—where ideas become impact and connections turn into results. To join a committee, please contact the assigned staff member!

AGRICULTURE

  • The purpose of the Agricultural Committee of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to promote and support the agricultural industry within Wayne County by fostering collaboration, advocacy, and education. The Committee is dedicated to enhancing the economic vitality and sustainability of local farms, agribusinesses, and rural communities. Through strategic initiatives and programs, we aim to:

    1. Advocate for policies and practices that benefit the agricultural sector.

    2. Facilitate networking and partnership opportunities among farmers, agribusinesses, and community stakeholders.

    3. Provide educational resources and training to advance agricultural innovation and best practices.

    4. Promote the importance of agriculture to the local economy and community well-being.

    5. Support efforts to attract and retain the next generation of agricultural professionals.

    By achieving these objectives, the Agricultural Committee seeks to strengthen the agricultural foundation of Wayne County, ensuring a prosperous future for our farmers and the broader community.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

  • The purpose of the Government Affairs Committee of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to advocate for policies and initiatives that encourage a favorable business environment and promote the economic growth and prosperity of Wayne County. The Committee serves as the voice of the business community in local, state, and federal government affairs, striving to:

    1. Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory issues that impact local businesses and the community.

    2. Advocate for policies that support economic development, job creation, and business sustainability.

    3. Facilitate communication and collaboration between the business community and government officials.

    4. Educate Chamber members on relevant policy issues and their potential effects on the local business landscape.

    5. Organize forums, meetings, and events that encourage dialogue between business leaders and policymakers.

    By fulfilling these goals, the Government Affairs Committee aims to create a dynamic and supportive environment for businesses in Wayne County, ensuring their interests are represented and advanced in the public policy arena.

    The Government Affairs Committee also prepares the annual Legislative Agenda.

HEALTHCARE

  • The purpose of the Healthcare Committee of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to enhance the health and well-being of our community by supporting and advocating for a robust, accessible, and innovative healthcare system. The Healthcare Committee is determined to advance collaboration among healthcare providers, businesses, and community stakeholders to achieve the following objectives:

     

    1. Advocate for policies and initiatives that improve healthcare access, quality, and affordability for all residents of Wayne County.

    2. Promote public awareness and education on health and wellness issues, encouraging preventative care and healthy lifestyles.

    3. Facilitate partnerships and networking opportunities among healthcare providers, businesses, and community organizations.

    4. Support efforts to attract and retain healthcare professionals and to advance healthcare innovation and best practices.

    5. Organize forums, workshops, and events that address current healthcare challenges and opportunities within the community.

     

    Through these efforts, the Healthcare Committee aims to contribute to a healthier community and a stronger local economy, ensuring that Wayne County remains a desirable place to live, work, and thrive.

LIFT

  • The purpose of the LIFT (Leading in Faith Together) Committee of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to continue the development a strong and supportive community by promoting collaboration and understanding among faith-based organizations, businesses, and community members. The Committee is dedicated to leveraging the positive influence of faith leaders to achieve the following objectives:

    1. Encourage dialogue and partnerships between faith-based organizations and the business community to address common challenges and opportunities.

    2. Advocate for initiatives that support the moral and ethical development of the community.

    3. Promote volunteerism, community service, and social responsibility among businesses and individuals.

    4. Provide resources and support for faith-based organizations to enhance their outreach and impact within the community.

    5. Organize events, workshops, and forums that bring together faith leaders and business professionals to share insights and best practices.

    By fulfilling these goals, the LIFT Committee aims to strengthen the social fabric of Wayne County, ensuring a harmonious and thriving community where faith and business work together for the common good.

MILITARY AFFAIRS

  • The purpose of the Military Affairs Committee of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to support and advocate for the military community, including active-duty and reservist service members, veterans, and their families. The Committee is dedicated to building strong relationships between the military and civilian sectors to enhance mutual understanding and collaboration. 

     

    Their objectives include:

     

    1. Advocating for policies and initiatives that benefit service members, veterans, and their families, and support their integration into the community.

    2. Promoting awareness of the contributions and needs of the military community within Wayne County.

    3. Facilitating networking and partnership opportunities between military organizations, local businesses, and community stakeholders.

    4. Providing resources, support, and recognition for military personnel transitioning to civilian careers and entrepreneurship.

    5. Organizing events, workshops, and forums that honor military service and address the unique challenges faced by the military community.

     

    By fulfilling these goals, the Military Affairs Committee aims to create a supportive environment where the military community is valued, respected, and well-integrated into the fabric of Wayne County, contributing to the overall strength and unity of the region.

W.I.S.E

  • The purpose of the Women Inspiring Success & Empowerment (W.I.S.E) Committee of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is to empower, support, and advocate for women leaders in business and the community. The Committee is dedicated to building an inclusive environment where women can thrive, achieve their full potential, and contribute to the economic and social well-being of Wayne County through:

    1. Providing leadership development, mentorship, and networking opportunities for women at all stages of their careers.

    2. Advocating for policies and practices that promote gender equity and support the advancement of women in leadership roles.

    3. Celebrating and recognizing the achievements and contributions of women leaders in the community.

    4. Offering educational programs and resources that address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in the workforce.

    5. Organizing events, workshops, and forums that inspire, motivate, and connect women leaders.

    By achieving these objectives, the W.I.S.E. Committee aims to create a supportive network that persuades personal and professional growth, enhancing the impact of women leaders in Wayne County.
